Great Canadian Board Game Blitz!

The EBGL would like to invite everyone with a love for games to Edmonton's First running of the Great Canadian Board Game Blitz (GCBGB). What is the GCBGB you ask? The Great Canadian Board Game Blitz is a circuit of board game tournaments held at Canadian game conventions and retailers. You play several rounds of games over the span of eight hours, collecting points based on your finishing rank in each game. The finals are held each summer in Toronto at Fan Expo (August 2011 this year).

The day of fun starts at 10:30am and runs till around 6:30pm and will be held at Mission:Fun and Games (http://www.missionfunandgames.com), the official EBGL Gaming Headquarters! March & April 2011 Game of Focus Announced!

The March & April 2011 Game of Focus will be Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization!

The club currently only has two copies shared so please let us know if you own a copy and can share it with the club during the focus, or if you would be willing to purchase the game before the practice night (March 11th). Thanks to all of our members who took the time to vote and good luck at the tournament!



A Game of Thrones Tournament Results

The A Game of Thrones tournament ended on Feb 11th, with every game won by a different player. This means we have a rare, 7-way tie for first place position between Chris F, Jen T,Patrick C, Samson C, Shawn R, Shawn T, and Vern R with 7 points (1W,1L) over the three days. Second place goes to Stephen Y with 4 points (1W,0L).

Thanks to everyone for making this the EBGL's largest focus tournament turnout to date!
