'twas as a new parent
around twenty-sixteen.
When a pal introduced me
to the board gaming scene.

It was a way to be social,
leaving the infant-years daze
And I became a regular,
adopted the cardboard-filled craze.

Started things simple
Some classics like Ra.
Then a mix moving modern
Like Suburbia.

From there things got heavy
And multi-syllabic:
Terra Mystica, Terraforming Mars,
All very dramatic.

Now having moved cities
I find myself eager
To find new board-gamers.
